This website has been around for freakin YEARS.

YEARS.

It’s had various iterations. It’s been a beauty blog, a personal finance blog, and even a vegan blog.

I’m still into all of those things (although the beauty world is a very different place to what it was a decade ago) but I suffer from Shiny New Niche syndrome.

In 2019 I happened upon the Income School Youtube channel. The informed me that in order to get traffic to websites easily, you just need to write content that people are searching for.

Mind blown.

By pure happenstance, I had watched a Jenna Marbles plant tour a few months previously and was deep in my houseplant hyperfixation.

Sooo I started a separate houseplant blog. Then Covid was a thing and suddenly (literally overnight) something happened that had not happened to me EVER – people started coming to my website.

I qualified for Mediavine.

By November I was making THREE GRAND A MONTH.

I was, at the time, a minimum wage worker. This was big.

Then OBVIOUSLY it all came crashing down. You can’t rely on Google alone.

And then went back up. Then back down.

Anyway, onto the final form of this website (you know, fror now)

This website and the articles on it are, ironically enough, for a person that no longer exists – me in 2012.

This will be a roadmap for everything that you need to do to have a great blog.

We’re going to focus on how to set your blog up for success:

• When to write (assuming you only have limited time)
• What supplemental stuff you should be doing
• Skills you need
• Skills you don’t

• How to get traffic
